Add and Modify users from the “Accounts” page
Requirements
- Capsule8 Console version 4.4.0 or later
This page will help to set fine-grained control over who gets to view or modify alerts, hosts, users – and more – on the console by defining “Roles”. Roles can be assigned to a user one at a time, as needed.
Users:
Once you login to the application, click on the tab Accounts, then click on the tab Users.
This page will list the available Console user accounts.
Add a New User
Click New User to create a new account.
Username: Enter the desired username eg: John Doe
Display Name: Enter the desired display name eg: JD
Email: Enter the Capsule8 email id eg:johndoe@capsule8.com
Password: Enter the desired password
Role: Select the desired Role from the dropdown
Once all the details are filled, click on Save.
Modify Existing Users:
Click on the existing User.
Display Name: Enter the desired display name eg: JD
Email: Enter the Capsule8 email id eg:johndoe@capsule8.com
Password: Enter the desired password
Role: Select the desired Role from the dropdown
Once all the details are filled, click on Save.
Delete Existing Users:
To delete one or multiple users at once, you can check the User and click Delete, then click Yes in the confirmation dialog.
The "admin" User can not be deleted.
Roles:
Once you login to the application, click on the tab Accounts , then click on the tab Roles:

This page will list the available roles.
Create a New Role.
Click Add Role
Name: Desired name for the Role
Unrestricted: Click this checkbox, if the role will have all the available permissions including permissions added in the future.
Permissions: Select the required check-boxes to customize the permissions
Once the required details are filled click on Save.
Modify access permissions.
To modify, click on the existing role
Name: Desired name for the Role
Unrestricted: Click this checkbox, if the role will have all the available permissions including permissions added in the future.
Permissions: Select the required check-boxes to customize the permissions
Once the required details are filled click on Save.
Delete Roles.
To delete one or multiple Roles at once, you can check the Role and click Delete, then click Yes in the confirmation dialog.
The "Admin", "Basic" and "Default" Roles can not be deleted.
If any User is assigned to a Role then the Role can not be deleted.
